Zavvi are now offering a range of import Steelbooks!

Head over to Zavvi today and you will find a selection of import steelbooks available to buy.

Currently the range is limited to US releases, though we can imagine that may grow if the offer is successful.

Region coding info should be available for all titles, so if the disc isn’t listed as region free, you need to make sure you have a multi-region player.

As for whether it’s cheaper to buy from Zavvi or a US-based retailer like Amazon.com, that will depend on a few factors.

Don’t forget that Amazon.com charge a flat ‘per shipment’ fee plus a ‘per item’ fee, so while they may be cheaper for the disc itself, once shipping costs are added in (especially if you are ordering more than one title), along with customs charges if your order is over £18 and you are unlucky enough to get spot-checked, you may pay more than if you’d just gone to Zavvi in the first place.

The lesson – do your homework and your sums before ordering!

That caveat aside, this is great news, and hopefully it will be popular enough that Zavvi try to get some of the more sought after imports from other countries and retailers. Watch this space!
