Spielberg blockbuster “Ready Player One” is getting a 2D & 3D UK Steelbook release
Ready Player One has proved a hit with fans, with its perfect blend of nostalgia and cutting edge effects.
A UK steelbook has finally been confirmed, and it will contain the movie on 2D & 3D Blu-ray. As usual – and frustrating – for Warner UK steelbooks, this WON’T contain a 4K disc.
Final art is still TBC

Steven Spielberg directs this sci-fi action adventure based on the novel by Ernest Cline and starring Tye Sheridan and Olivia Cooke. In the year 2045, most of the desolate world’s population spends its days in the virtual reality landscape of the OASIS, including teenager Wade Watts (Sheridan) and his avatar Parzival. The late creator of the OASIS, scientist James Halliday (Mark Rylance), has hidden an Easter egg somewhere in the vast construct and the first to find it will become the rightful heir to his $500-billion fortune and take full control of the OASIS. With the help of his friends, who call themselves the High Five, Wade races to find the hidden treasure before anyone else, including the CEO of Innovative Online Industries, Nolan Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn) and his army of Sixers. The cast also includes Simon Pegg, T.J. Miller and Lena Waithe.
I hope that isnt the final cover. Would prefer something much more like the film posters.
If you look at bottom of pic says final artwork tbc. So hopefully will be better.
Looks like Arrow videos Contamination cover
I like the retro style artwork, fits with the theme of the movie perfectly.
Glad to see this steel will be released by Zavvi.
However, I am not quite sold on the initial artwork. I like the 3 keys idea on the back of the cover, but also would like to see some main motifs from the movie itself ie Iron Giant end avatars of the main characters on the front cover.
In the current form (the grid pattern) it resembles of the original TRON artwork.
Let’s hope the final artwork will be much better.
One of the most visually spectacular films in recent years, that will undoubtedly become a cult classic, and we are only getting standard Blu-ray+3D? no 4K?
no thanks.
There’s a amazon Germany 4K steelbook up for pre order, but no artwork yet, but a film like that’s got to be seen in 4k
