FINAL ART AND SPECS CONFIRMED – The DCEU’s latest entry “Wonder Woman” is getting a UK exclusive 3D & 2D Steelbook release from HMV
Warner Bros’ DCEU movies have been a mixed bag so far, to say the least. While box office successes, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Suicide Squad have hardly been critical successes.
That all looks like it’s about to change now, as Wonder Woman, one of the highlights of BvS, gets her own movie starring the fantastic Gal Gadot. Early reviews are almost all positive, which is a refreshing change for this series.
HMV have picked up the UK exclusive – no surprise there, given their Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad releases –
and pre-orders are live right now. Release date is October 9th.

Patty Jenkins directs this action adventure film starring Gal Gadot as the eponymous DC Comics superheroine. Raised on the island of Themyscira, young princess Diana (Gadot) has been trained in the fighting ways of her fellow Amazon warriors, despite the best wishes of her mother Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) who sought to shield her from combat. As she begins to learn the true extent of her powers, Diana and her fellow Amazons are thrust into battle when American pilot Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crash-lands just off the shores of Themyscira, pursued by the might of the Germany military. When Steve tells them about the First World War, raging across the world, Diana suspects the god of war Ares, whom Zeus has protected the Amazons from, has returned and sets off to London with Steve to put an end to the bloodshed of the Great War.
Date release?

Yes pls!
You talk about the “Box office success” but critical failure of other DC movies and I keep saying it but nobody listens. Critics these days have absolutely no idea about what makes movies good. The proof is that terrible mess of La La Land. People should stop listening to critics and just watch what you want and make up your own mind. If you like a movie, great! If your don’t, sorry! But don’t let someone else who is simply ticking boxes based on content tell you what to like… it’s crazy.
I take umbrage with this.
Critics don’t simply “tick boxes”. I have the same problem with people that say “this film isn’t for critics, it’s for fans”.
Do people really believe that, given the pittance your average film critic is paid (I know a couple of professional ones personally that have second jobs to help keep a roof over their head) they’re not FANS???
You wouldn’t do that job, you wouldn’t take that kind of abuse from people that think they know better because their opinion differs from yours, if you wasn’t a fan.
People shouldn’t stop listening to critics. People should realise that a critic’s job is to give their opinion on whatever they are criticising. That’s their job. If your opinion differs, fine, it differs. It makes neither of you right or wrong. it is, I’ll say it again, an opinion.
Now this is a cover I like. But yet we here in the US get the bad ones (just like BVS). What’s up with that?
Does hmv shipped to the U.S. and will they take money out when it releases or when you place the order? Thanks
HMV only ship to the UK. If you pay by PayPal the money is taken straight away,if you pay by credit or debit card they take a nominal amount to secure the order (0.01p) and then full payment upon dispatch.
This looks to be one of the best looking Steelbook first stop, very impressed.Well done HMV.
No HMV don’t ship to the USA I’m afraid
This is so messed up. No 3d steelbook for America. Stupid HmV.
I wish HMV would ship to the US. They have better cover art for their steelbooks, coveted by many aficionados, and their sales will increase. The US Wonder Woman cover art pales in comparison to the HMV artwork.
Hmv have asked for the money today even though it’s not released for another 2 weeks yet, does anyone know why?
They usually only take money when they’re getting ready to dispatch, so maybe they’ve got it in stock already? You could be getting it early
