Animated Epic “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” is getting a stunning looking UK 4K Steelbook release

While we wait for the next live action film(s) based on the various so-far-untold corners of JRR Tolkien’s Middle Earth, the animated The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is hitting big screens.
Directed by anime veteran Kenji Kamiyama, the is bolstered by a number of live-action LOTR crew behind the scenes, including producers Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, concept artists John Howe and Alan Lee, and effect maestro Richard Taylor.
The film will be picking up an awesome looking 4K Steelbook release, and pre-orders are live right now.

The anime feature, directed by Kenji Kamiyama, is set 183 years before the events chronicled in the original trilogy of films. A sudden attack by Wulf, a clever and ruthless Dunlending lord seeking vengeance for the death of his father, forces Helm and his people to make a daring last stand in the ancient stronghold of the Hornburg – a mighty fortress that will later come to be known as Helm’s Deep. Finding herself in an increasingly desperate situation, Hera, the daughter of Helm, must summon the will to lead the resistance against a deadly enemy intent on their total destruction.
